Energomontaż Północ Gdynia has completed the construction of another section of the drilling platform. On April 17, the 168-ton structure left the plant and sailed to the customer.

The project of building 8 sections of the Edvard Grieg platform is being carried out by a company from Gdynia for the Norwegian giant in the offshore industry, Aker Solutions. Weighing 200 tons, section 8, completing the project, will leave the plant in May this year.

The first stage of loading consisted of moving the sections using a hydraulic sliding trolley system. In the second stage, the structure was reloaded from the quay to the ship using the Maja floating crane.

After loading, the section will be transported directly to the platform under construction.

The Edvard Grieg production and processing platform will be located in the oil field of the same name, located in the North Sea. The first mining and production from this deposit will begin at the end of 2015.
